About Atalji Janasnehi Kendra:
The “Nemmadi” Project was started in 2006 by the e-Governance department on PPP mode through 802 Tele-Centres across the State. Due to the various problems experienced, including lack of control over private partners, the Government decided to take over the Project entirely and hand over the same to the Revenue department.
Through this, the Government envisaged that all the Revenue services would be accessible to the ordinary people by establishing the exclusive service centres at the Hobli level through transparent, reliable and affordable means.
These centres are meant for the electronic delivery of citizen services in rural areas and were named “Atalji Janasnehi Kendras” as per the Government order dated 18.12.2012. Accordingly, the Atalji Janasnehi Project was officially launched in 769 Hobli centres nationwide on 25.12.2012.
